Karen is interested in how people dress, what it reflects about a person and why people choose to wear certain things. Colour, texture, and shape being very important she wants to find a way of representing how the current clubkid/drag scene is taking place through fabric and clothing.
By creating textile designs from her photography, these unique patterns are designed to be printed onto fabric and then made or worn in any way desired. From afar they appear to be only abstract patterns and shapes, yet by taking a closer look, the faces and shapes of her clubkid/drag models are visible. The first fabric of its kind, Karen is hoping to create a collection of prints and garments out of her work.

My first outfit!
I used two meters of Bamboo (120gsm) fabric, and wore it to Manchester Pride!
